Cheers to the weekend!
Another work week is in the books, sweet friends, and I am more than ready to welcome in the weekend! At this point, I’m beginning to wonder if the rain is ever going to stop. Luckily, Mac and I are headed to Savannah this weekend where there’s (fingers crossed) no rain in the forecast! While we’re there, we’ll be going to a low country boil, and I can’t wait! Low country boils are always so much fun and so delicious. Be sure to check out my Instagram next week (I take the weekends off of social media for lots of family and friend time) to see more of this southern tradition!
Yoga Pilates at Elite Edge
I’m going to be completely honest and transparent with y’all. Before Mac and I met, I was never really into fitness. As bad it sounds, it just really wasn’t my thing. Every now and then (*cough* New Year’s Day *cough*), I would get a little motivation and start working out, but it never stuck. Eventually, I would lose motivation and frankly, I just didn’t care about it enough to keep going.
There are a million things I’m thankful for that Mac has taught me and introduced me to, but the biggest has to be implementing a healthy lifestyle. He is the king of health and wellness and eventually that poured into my life, too! I went from not working out at all (cringe, I know) to now exercising regularly, and it’s made such a difference not only in my appearance but in my mentality as well. Simply put, when you feel great, you look great!
Again, I have Mac to thank for introducing me to Elite Edge. Y’all, this is hands down the BEST gym in Atlanta! Jason, the owner of Elite Edge, and his staff are the most knowledgeable trainers in the fitness industry in my opinion. While my usual exercise of choice is to weight lift, I decided to check out the Yoga Pilates class with Kate at Elite Edge a few weekends ago. I had taken a few yoga and Pilates classes in college and thought this would be an easy Saturday workout.
Oh man was I wrong!
Kate completely changed the game with this class and gave me one of the best core workouts I’ve done in quite some time. The movements are really simple but the burn definitely lets you know it’s working! The best part about this class for me was how low impact it was, and knowing I was still getting a killer workout in! Kate really explained the mechanics behind each movement and exactly what muscle we were targeting, which I found to be really helpful. She made the class really informative and a lot of fun!
If yoga or Pilates isn’t really your thing, Elite Edge offers many different classes from boot camps to strength and conditioning, and your first class is free! Go and check them out, friends, you won’t be sorry!
